Lots people ignore the countless treasures to be found in other South American cities. Cordoba, Argentina is one that is often overlooked, but one can discover endless attractions in this city, at a fraction of the cost of its popular huge city competitors. There are many grounds why Cordoba, Argentina is the best city in South America that you never knew about before. Córdoba is the second largest city in Argentina and is called the Heart of Argentina. It is located at the intersection of routes ranging from Chile and Upper Peru (Bolivia) to the port of Buenos Aires, was the most important city during the colonial period. Some 300 years later, Cordoba has preserved its colonial heritage, as evidenced by their culture and architecture. The First River, the main natural landmark forms of Cordoba. South of the Plaza is Calle Obispo Trejo, an easily accessible avenue lined with some of the most famous buildings of the colonial city. No doubt you will find the contrast between 21st century technology and the history of the colonial era. Beautiful parks, historical sites, museums and different attractions can be admired, as the colonial architecture of the Cathedral, the Cabildo, dating back to the 17th century, Bishop Market House built in the early 18th century, the Museum of Religious Art, the Montserrat school, the oldest school that dates back to 1685, and the Society of Jesus, the oldest church in the country and the National University of Córdoba famous and prestigious, attracting thousands of students from other parts of the country and the rest of South America. Because Cordoba attracts lots of students, it is not surprising that there are schools for foreigners who wish to study Spanish. Europeans, especially Germans, are the current majority of foreigners studying Spanish. Gus Christensen, an American student who studied for four weeks through Amerispa program in Cordoba, made the following comments for anyone interested in learning Spanish in Latin America: It is a very comfortable. It's so easy to feel at home and people are very friendly, easy to find culture, good food and good nightlife. You can also ride back on horse and enjoy the countryside about a half hour outside of the city during your trips to argentina in Cordoba. The assets most rewarding of all are people friendly and willing in the province. Infrastructure is adequate but not luxurious, the roads are often winding but never creepy, and the views are unique. The seasons are opposite of North America, making Argentina a great winter getaway and a perfect place to travel during tours of argentina.
