Aging is one of the main reasons why a person experience painful joints. Are you one of these people who complain about all body and joint pains such as knee pain? You cannot even continue household works because of too much pain you feel. You need not worry because there are many ways to alleviate the pain that you are feeling. Pain is caused by many factors. Most of the causes are easy to be treated.

Whenever a person feels anything bad in their body they usually visit a health care professional for consultation. While there are some causes of knee pain which requires medical assistance, most causes can be treated at home especially those that are related to physical activity. Exerting too much effort in doing household chores causes severe pain especially to those who has arthritis or joint pains. Take some rest and avoid weight bearing activities to lessen the pain felt in the knee joints. If you experience pain in the knees, it is also advisable to put ice on the affected area. Applying it every hour for fifteen minutes may be very helpful for the first day. On the following days, you may already apply cold compress at least four times a day. If there is an accompanied swelling, elevate the knees and you may put elastic bandages which could be bought in any pharmacy. The bandage will also serve as knee support. You can also take medications such as pain relievers to ease the pain and swelling of the joints. To avoid friction, sleep with pillow unde
eath or in between your knees.

If you have already tried all home remedies but the knee pain won’t go away, it is advisable that you already call your private physician. Some symptoms wherein you have to consult the doctor are when you cannot bear weight on your knees. You are feeling severe pain even if you are not bearing any weight. Go to the health professional if your knee buckles, clicks, or locks. It may be an indication of a severe illness. Knees should not be deformed, but if yours is misshaped, consult your doctor. If there is redness, warmth, fever, or significant swelling, it may indicate an inflammation. If you noticed pain with swelling, numbness, or any bluish discoloration in the calf you have to tell your doctor about this to avoid further complication. And lastly, if you still feel pain after three days of treating yourself you must go to your doctor immediately. Hopefully, the home remedies and medical advices that are mentioned will help you to lessen the pain that you are feeling with your joints. These are just simple ways and easy to perform.
