I go walking in the mall daily to complete my 7 or 8 miles of walking. And a man I have struck up a friendship with also walks there. We see each other now and then… but not long ago I did not see Charles walking… he was sitting.

I asked Charles who is 74 why are you not walking… and Charles said he had terrible sciatic nerve pain. And I am going to see his doctor today and find out what’s going on.
And so Charles did see his doctor… who told Charles he needed surgery. So the doctor gave Charles a referral to see a surgeon and the surgeon wanted to do the surgery as soon as possible. But Charles was a bit hesitant about the whole thing. Because he had good days with little pain and bad days… and that didn’t make sense to him. If he really needed surgery… he should have constant pain.
So I told Charles about my diet and the fact that all of this could be caused by inflammation caused by what he was eating. Eating lots of dairy products and animal products which produces a toxin our body which creates inflammation.
But, Charles was not convinced, so I told him about my story of having arthritis for 30 years… and now on my diet, all my pain and suffering disappeared… and I would never ever go back. I loved my diet, feel great, I don’t have any aches, pains, or anything at 66 years of age.
But at the same time, Charles did not want to have surgery… because the surgery is very painful. And Charles has a long-standing habit of eating lots of animal products and it’s not easy to let go of that habit… but it’s very important to do so. It takes about 2 weeks to break the habit.
So Charles decided to cut down on his consumption of animal products. Charles started eating more beans and veggies… instead of eating milk, cheese, eggs, and meats of all kinds including fish.
And low and behold, his pain started to subside. And Charles started walking again. In fact, Charles increased his walking from 5 to 8 miles a day. And the more Charles walks the better he feels in general.
Not all of Charles pain is gone… because he is still eating a little bit of animal products… but the pain is manageable.
But Charles hopes to eventually to stop eating all animal products in the future and enjoy a pain-free life.
