Castors Help Move Our World
When you think about it Castors really do help move our world. For such tiny little wheels they carry a lot of the weight so we don't have to and they have been doing so for nearly 150 years. You would think that when the caveman discovered that he could roll a round rock that they would have seen the possibilities of tiny rolling rocks as well. As a matter of fact I thought for sure I saw some tiny wheels being used in the city of Bedrock on the Flintstones television series. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure I did. Regardless of this, today the castor has become a house hold and business ally that will not soon fade from existence.
We often talk about the use of Castors in warehouses and other various types of factories. One of the ways these wheels are utilized is on platform trucks. There are many different platform trucks on the market and they are used for a variety of reasons. The basic folding platform truck is used to move various products from location to location. A steel panel mover for example is designed to stack panels side by side. There are also trucks that are used to move sheetrock and other various materials. These trucks can hold less than a hundred pounds or over 2,000 pounds depending on the type you buy.
Stock picking trucks are also quite popular in the warehouse setting. These trucks can hold around two thousand pounds and come with shelves for added space. These stock picking trucks come in a wide variety including stock picking ladder trucks that allow you to climb up and reach needed stock. The use of rolling castors is very popular on a variety of these trucks. Freight terminal trucks are also utilized quite extensively in industrial areas. They are used to move heavy freight short distances to be transferred to other locations. You will find a variety of these types of trucks in use in warehouses and freight terminals everywhere.
Mobile storage racks also utilize heavy duty Castors to store stock and be moved easily from one location to another. This is a great way to store stock and have it within easy access at all times. You can simply push these racks from one location to another, something that would have not been feasible prior to the castor. From welding fixture tables to steel handling carts the castor has been designed to make mobility a priority. These wheels may be small in stature, but their contribution to our world cannot go unnoticed. The castor continues to help move our world in a positive direction.
