A tremor is an unintentional shaking or movement of any part of the body which may also involve head and voice. It is most frequently observed in your hands. Essential tremor is general in older people. It is infrequently present when the hands are not being used. It becomes most evident when the affected person is trying to do something, like writing or reaching for an object. It is not induced by an underlying disease.

It may be difficult in making definite finger movements which will necessitate enlarged keypads with rests, delayed activation or key-guards. Selection of key operating pressure may be critical to the avoidance of muscular spasm. Both displayed and audible key feedback will be required to confirm correct propulsion and avoidance of unwanted repeats. Speech-input keying may be craving, but some conditions giving rise to it also cause hesitancy in speech.

They can happen at any age but tend to be more usual in older people. You can develop it from stress, fatigue, rage or even anxiety. However, an ongoing one that is not associated with a change in your emotional state may be a sign of an underlying medical condition and should be evaluated. They are perfectly normal, but excluding medical reasons for the shaking is important.

Causes:
• Environmental factors: People with rare exposure to pesticides and herbicides are more likely to develop Parkinson's disease than are people who don't have this exposure.
• Thyrotoxicosis or Hyperthyroidism occurs when the thyroid releases too many of its hormones over a short (acute) or long (chronic) period of time.
• Half of the cases are due to gene mutation and transmitted dominantly.

There are two main loci: ETM1 and ETM2. The rest are idiopathic. No recognizable and consequent structural abnormality has yet been proved to exist in the nervous system of every person with ET.

Symptoms of Hand tremor:
• Rigid muscles: Muscle stiffness (rigidity) frequently occurs in your limbs and neck. Sometimes the rigidity can be so severe that it limits the size of your movements and causes pain.
• Tremors
• Mild headaches
• Cold sweat
• Vomiting
• Loss of appetite
• Insomnia
• Restlessness
• Rapid pulse
• Anxiety and
• Auditory hallucinations.

However, some testing may be done to rule out other causes of it, such as excessive caffeine or tobacco use, use of certain medications (for example, lithium, asthma drugs, certain anti-seizure drugs and antidepressants), alcohol withdrawal. Avoid caffeine and get enough sleep for any cause of it.
