Risk factors include aging, size and shape of the spine, smoking, long driving, stress, and exhausting physical labor in work. Low back pain is indeed common to all, and once you have it, you are not alone. This is very common pain at the back that can be felt at home, school and at work. It is very important that you know what main factors can trigger the back pain to prevent further occurrence and to prevent less unproductive mode: Here are the Mechanical, physical, neurological, bio mechanical and psychological causes of low back pain. 1) Mechanical Causes:This is something related to the spine: position and loss of function/abnormalities. Muscle Strain.A strained muscles can only happen when the muscles are not used properly which then can leas to over forced, stretched and worked. Specifically, strain is common when stretching are not applied before and after a rigid exercise especially when the person performs the exercise for the very first time. Also, muscle straining is specific with people experiencing labor works and also working with long hours of standing and sitting. Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a common condition among aging. This is an aging disease because osteoarthritis comes with age; meaning, when one gets older and older, all the more the bones and joints that provide support at the back are also degenerating in function. What happens is that the bones are tender and stiff thereby causing low back pain. As this is so, slouching is very common in osteoarthritis. Spinal narrowing. This is a condition wherein the canal of the spine is being compressed by the nerves. 2) Physical Causes. This is affecting the body as a whole. Cancer: This usually happens on the later stage as spreading of cancer cells can happen. On the advanced stage of cancer, cancer cells may spread and affect the spine thus allowing loss of function. Infections: In any invasive spinal operation, bacterial invasion may trigger pain. As this can penetrate into the spine, lower back pain is also felt. High anti bacterial drugs are usually the recommended treatment for this situation to prevent inflammation and pain. 3) Neurological Disorders. Pinched nerve in the back is actually the most common neurological disorder. The nerves are usually the messenger of information from the brain going to the different parts of the body to cause movement.Lower back pain is felt if and when the nerves are pinched or compressed which may also be radiating to the different areas of the body. 4) Biomechanical Causes. Among the causes of low back pain, bio mechanical is the most common. Bio mechanical cause is directly attributed to poor posture as the backs, buttocks, abdomen and head are not positioned properly when sitting, standing or sleeping. Any improper posture can hurt your back severely. 5) Psychological Causes. As for the research, back pain specifically on the lower back is associated with psychological causes. These are commonly called as "stress related back pain".Although these are new and not common, you must know that when one is stressed emotionally, back pain can be the direct result.
