When your computer has a bug, hidden programs run commands that interfere with normal operations and generally wreak havoc on the system. They can add in information where it doesn’t belong, block access to important areas and interrupt full enjoyment of the operations system. The same is true for the mind, which after all is like a super computer that makes today's laptops look like tinker toys. "Moments of pain and unconsciousness hidden from view and the comments made during them can act like a virus in the human mind. Once those memories are recovered, they no longer affect the individual. It's like detecting and un-installing a hidden program in your pc – once it's gone, performance is restored." Says Michael Lewis, a Los Angeles area Dianetics counselor. In Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, the #1 best selling self-help book which has sold 20 million copies worldwide, L. Ron Hubbard describes techniques to recover hidden memories and put the mind within full control of the user, allowing you to be much happier in life and have much more confidence in yourself. Craig Jensen, Founder and CEO of Diskeeper Corporation and computer expert and an entrepreneur, says the parallel is very clear to him. Mr. Jensen, who has received Dianetics counseling himself, says Dianetics has allowed him to achieve his goals without the past holding him back. “Sometimes you have to uninstall ‘failure1.0’ before you can run ‘Success 3.0.’”, says Jensen. Psychologists and hypnotists have tried in the past to add suggestions to the individual. That's like adding another virus to your computer to get rid of the one you already have. The human mind works well on it's own when nothing is interfering. "When something isn't running right, you get the wrench out of the works, you don't throw another one in," says Lewis. Popularized by marketing, the “chemical imbalance” theory has been thoroughly discredited by researchers, doctors and scientists. Yet it is driven by $23 billion in drug sales each year. It really isn't a hardware problem, but a software problem. Next time there is a glitch in the program, check for a hidden bug running in the background.
