A stable financial foundation requires an examination of your money hindering beliefs and impressions. Evaluating your financial background and ideas assists you in recognizing mental barriers that are between you and financial security. Being aware of your financial obstacles gives you the opportunity to find out when you first believed this mental attitude. Also, over time it assists you to restructure your financial outline to have financial security. It is incredible that adults are limited by worries and thoughts about money. This knowledge of your money mindset has been absorbed from our experiences, environment and what we were told about money. I use a 3 tier program to aid clients in becoming aware of their money beliefs. The three tiers are realization, perception and reconstructing. The first step is to become aware of your money mental blocks. The next step is to comprehend when and where these beliefs started. After you identify the limitations and their beginning, the third step, is restructuring that thought to an encouraging statement. Below is a synopsis of the three tiers to bring up old moments that repeats through us unconsciously.
  • Become familiar with your money background: Working with clients, I ask for honest responses to interesting questions regarding money in their childhood and how they now collect money. Ask yourself the questions below to help pinpoint contrary beliefs that may stand between you and having a stable financial foundation.
    • What is the money story from your youth? What did you observe, experience or listen to about money?
    • Who taught you about money? What was the influential individual that affected your thinking around money?
  • Comprehend the effect your money history has on you currently: After classifying your experiences and observations about money the next part of the process is to review the way this story influenced your money actions and decisions. Ask these questions:
    • How does former money experiences and information surface in your present monetary actions. These behaviors can also affect the financial, physical and sacred areas of your life.
      • What is the main idea from your money history? A few instances are:
        • I have bad money management skills
        • Acquiring money decreases my faith
        • I begrudge wealthy people
        • I can't make money doing what I love
  • Remodel your actions: Once you are conscious of your money programming and the affect it has on your existing money management skills, it's time to revamp your mindset. An effective practice to remodel your attitude is to snap a rubber band on your wrist each time you have a negative conscious thought about money. This is a powerful exercise because it makes you agitated and bruised. An alternative exercise is to write down in a journal each limiting idea and write situations that validate why this idea is untrue.
Actually, I have done this exercise several times in identify discouraging beliefs about money that were hidden in my subconsciousness. My mother and father passed on exemplary money management intelligence and instilled that financial stability is only accessible through a paycheck and perks. This meant essentially only a job can supply financial security. However, this idea is contradictory to an entrepreneur. I revised my consciousness to understand I could rely on me. This system of studying your money perceptions is more meaningful than building a financial plan or being conscious of your cash flow to save money and diminish debts. Remember that your consciousness is your financial foundation and it has to stable.
