Char Dham Yatra is a pilgrimage, a spiritual journey to attain Moksha (salvation). This pilgrimage is humongous and famous amongst Hindus, as attaining salvation is believed to be the ultimate purpose of life for them. This holy journey of visiting the four Dhams was believed to be started by Sage Shri Adi Shankaracharya. You visit Yamunotri Dham, Gangotri Dham, Kedarnath Dham, and Badrinath Dham on your pilgrimage to Chardham.

Char Dham Yatra is a hunt for spirituality, which will leave you with utmost serenity and complete peace of mind. You can discover things about yourselves you have never thought of. This lifetime adventurous journey is a must-do. People refer to this journey as a key to soul searching, seeking mercy for their sins, and getting rid of all their tiring struggles of life.


Each year the number of people participating in this holy char Dham yatra increases drastically. You can either complete your pilgrimage by trekking or using helicopter services available across all the dhams.


Char Dham Yatra is believed to be the only way to attain Moksha across all the other Pilgrimages in the country. People's faith in this journey is just unshakeable.

Char Dhams of Uttarakhand:


Yamunotri Dham: The Char Dham Yatra starts from Yamunotri Dham. It is the first Dham, and the first destination devotees visit on their spiritual journey. Yamunotri Dham is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Devotees come from around the world to offer their prayers and seek the blessings of goddess Yamuna. The Yamunotri Temple is believed to be made by the king of Tehri in 1839. People feel the utmost solace and serenity spending time here. The temple is surrounded by the beautiful snow-capped Himalayas, which fills each devotee's heart with tranquility. The natural scenic views are worth watching here. After spending time in and around the shrine, you will be filled with peace.


Gangotri Dham: The second Dham of your Char Dham Yatra would be the sacred Gangotri Dham. The Gangotri Temple located here is very famous amongst Hindu Devotees. This shrine is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. So, if you wish to worship the goddess Ganga, this is the best place to do so, as it is widely believed that the temple here is the highest to be dedicated to Goddess Ganga. This temple has its roots in Hindu Mythology. It is said that River Ganga entered the Earth from Heaven here only. Another reason for its popularity is that the Pandava Brothers used to conduct the boundless Deva Yagna here. Visit this holy temple in your Char Dham Yatra and fill your souls with peace and tranquility.


Badrinath Dham: The Badrinath Dham is the last and fourth Dham of the sacred Char Dham Yatra. Your journey towards attaining salvation ends here at the Badrinath Dham. It is considered to be the major destination of the pilgrimage. The Badrinath Temple is one of the Panch Badri Temples. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this shrine entertains lakhs of devotees daily to worship lord Vishnu. You can come across Vishnu Devotees from all over the world here. The weather here also plays a major role in your entire experience. Spend time in the temple's surroundings and feel other solace and peace.


Kedarnath Dham: The Kedarnath Dham is the most famous Dham of the entire yatra. Shiva Devotees widely visit the Kedarnath Temple in huge numbers. Kedarnath Shrine is dedicated to lord Shiva. Devotees come and seek the blessings of Shiva here. The location of this shrine makes it a must-visit place once in your lifetime. The snow-capped Himalayas offers mesmerizing views one cannot afford to miss. According to Hindu Mythology, the Pandava Brothers built this Kedarnath Temple to seek forgiveness for killing their blood relations and kin. This place holds a special significance for attaining salvation. The journey to attain Moksha is complete with visiting this holy temple.
