The term," you are what you eat ", does not only apply to humans, but also to your cats. If you feed your cat cheap cat foods that are filled with meat by-products and grains, you are essential feeding your pet junk food. If as humans, we were to just eat candy bars and chips on a daily basis, we might survive, but the real question is for how long and how well would we feel? The food that you buy for your cat should provide the vitamins, minerals and nutrients your feline needs to live a vibrant, healthy life, not just survive.
Don't waste your money on over-sized cheap bags of cat food. Sales are great, but when it comes to your feline's food you need to focus on what's in the bag and not just the price tag. That's easy to say right? However, the fact is you might save a couple of dollars now by buying cheap food, but most likely will spend a lot more money later on your cat's vet bills. Eating a diet filled with corn, meat by products and grains can result in adverse affects on your cat's health. One of the causes of cat illnesses such as diabetics is excess weight. Grains and fillers simply pack on the pounds on your pet, minus the nutrient. Cats are carnivores; therefore they need real meat as their main source.
Cheap cat food is cheap for a reason; they used grains and fillers, instead of meat, to make their bags of food. Look for cat food with real meat, where the meat is listed as the first 2-3 ingredients. Manufactures of feline food, realize how much pet owners care for their pets welfare, so in an attempt to gain our trust, they start the ingredients off with a protein. however, after the protein then a meat by-products, grain or corn is usually listed. If in the first three ingredients a protein is only listed once, then most likely the majority of the cat food is made up of fillers, such as corn meal, corn and grains.
What is meat by-products? Meat by products is what is left over after all the nutritious parts are taken for human consumption, by products are parts such as the blood, bone, necks, feet, intestines, and feathers. How much nutrients do you think is in a chicken feet, not much. Your cat deserves to eat the most nutritious parts of the animal, not just the left overs. Treat your carnivore cat to nutritious high premium protein rich cat food.
