You are not naive to the ways of the world. You understand that just about every marriage relationship is going to have its ups and downs. Problems come up that cannot and will not be solved overnight. Disagreements will linger. Not because one person is wrong and refuses to apologize but because both of you have a valid point. You try to find middle ground but accept the fact that on certain issues (not many) that's not going to work.

But this time around something is definitely wrong and it's not you. That's not your ego talking. It's just an observation about the one you love.
In a study done by Infidelity Facts, fifty seven percent of men and fifty three percent of women admitted to having an extramarital affair.
Some confessed while others were caught red handed. Still others were caught after some detective work by the spouse. There has to be a certain amount of cunning since the whole point of infidelity is not to get caught.

While they may never show the obvious signs like exercising when you know they are the poster child for couch potatoes everywhere. There are a few things that may have caught your attention

1. The Quiet Change

Your significant other starts liking a certain food. You don't mind that but when you presented the same dish or something similar, they were adamant in their dislike and refusal to give it a try. Now it's okay? What or who changed their minds?

Or maybe from what you've observed previously they have never been one to turn on the stereo after work. It's usually that they come home and head right for the TV. Again you may be grateful that they are trying something new but you cannot help but wonder what happened to cause the change

2. The Computer

They love being online. You've always known that but there used to be a certain time that they got on and off the internet. You do not have a stopwatch but you get the feeling the time they spend online is getting longer. Why?

Also they have suddenly gotten very guarded about you using the computer. Where as before it was community property now it seems like your significant other comes up with little excuses as to why the computer is not available to you at this time. And if it is, you get the sense that it is being prepped for you since they never seem to hand it over right away.

3. Relationship Language

There is a certain ebb and flow to every relationship; a rhythm which both parties get to know and understand after being together. Now something is different. You cannot pinpoint the exact way things have changed but your intuition is telling you loud and clear that things are not what they used to be. You're still you but at times when it comes to your significant other it's almost like a stranger has come into the house.

It's understandable that you want to believe in your spouse. You would be very relieved to know that your suspicions are nothing more than your emotions getting ahead of you. But something is wrong and it is giving you more than your fair share of sleepless nights. Now for better or worse it's up to you to find out what that something is.
