Chemicals in cosmetics
"If I'd know I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself." ~Leon Eldred I am sorry about the headline! Unfortunately it's the truth, and I think you would like to know. I want my articles to be positive so I will turn it around and just say: Be happy, stay healthy - throw away your chemical stuffed cosmetics! Start using top organic skin care products, make your own skin care products or just be natural”. The last thing we want is to cover our skin with deadly chemicals. OK! That's' my opinion.

You Need To Know!

Why so dramatic? I received an e- mail today with the headline “Are Your Cosmetics Killing You?” The e-mail came from Ian Robinson, Managing Editor in Natural Health Dossier "Health Watch". “Natural Health Dossier is an independent health research team committed to publishing the latest medical discoveries and scientific research (NHD "Health Watch) is dedicated to delivering the most trusted and comprehensive health guidance in the world”.

Your daily beauty products could well damage your kidneys, affect your nervous system, and even cause cancer.

I read the mail from Ian Robinson with great interest as I just wrote another article about chemicals in cosmetics. I am not at all surprised. The fact is, a lot of people are totally unaware of the dangers using cosmetics. Your daily beauty products could well damage your kidneys, affect your nervous system, and even cause cancer. Of course we should not need to worry as we trust that products that are legal to promote and sell should be safe to use. You need to rethink! Here is a quote from the article: "Currently, the FDA can’t regulate beauty products until they are already on sale to the public. That means these products and ingredients don’t have to go through any safety tests. Cosmetics companies can also combine ingredients without pre-market tests. The FDA has banned certain compounds in beauty products. For example, it banned mercury in cosmetics in 1990. But it rarely tests to see if manufactures respect that ban. And that means no one is checking to see if consumers remain at risk or not. In the case of mercury, a series of recent high-profile tests and investigations show that products continue to expose Americans to dangerous levels even now.” You'll find a link to the entire article below under references.

Keep These Three Tips In Mind!

To avoid chemicals in cosmetics, Health Watch ask us to keep these three tips in mind: Be wary of claims that say products are:
  • "Dermatologist-tested,"
  • "Natural," or
  • "Organic."
Look for yourself and read the ingredient label instead. Be very serious about warning labels. They're your best clue to toxic ingredients. Happy Natural Life! Kristin
