What a title for a blog, I am sure most who are reading this are scratching their heads wondering what it is all about. Continue reading and you will become enlightened to much more than what is being reported in the media.

Towards the end of December 2014, it was made public via Twitter that Lindsay Lohan had contracted Chikungunya and the news spread like wildfire because of her fame. If it were not for Lindsay Lohan’s going public with her having contracted the disease, I would not have been made aware that it existed.
Being a Nature-O-Path and medical researcher, I immediately Googled Chikungunya. I did an abundant amount of reading about the disease which apparently was first introduced with an outbreak occurring in Tanzania in 1952, Eastern Africa, and since then has been detected in 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Asia, the Americas (most prevalent in the Caribbean) and Europe, according to the World Health Organization. In 2014, according to the Pan American Health Organization, there were approximately 165,000 cases suspected or confirmed in the Caribbean.

So what is Chikungunya and why such a funny name? It is named after the African word, Chikungunya, which means “to become contorted.” Chikungunya is a virus that is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito and is similar to the dengue and West Nile viruses.

Chikungunya Symptoms are not fun to experience as noted below:
• Sudden high fever (usually >102º F) which may be continuous or intermittent
• Severe joint pain that commonly involves the hands and feet
• Joint swelling
• Back pain
• Rash usually 2-5 days after fever starts
• Other symptoms may include headache, body ache, nausea, vomiting, and redness around the eyes. In unusual cases, infection can involve the brain, eyes, heart, kidney and other organs.
• Fatal infections are rare, however many patients have chronic joint pain, arthritis, loss of energy and depression lasting weeks to years.
The above list is sourced from Florida Health website:

I did a bit more research and went to the CDC website and according to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) there is no medicine to treat Chikungunya virus infection or disease. This was a bit difficult for me to swallow since I am aware of the natural alte
atives to assist the body in healing itself from a virus or bacteria of any kind.

Enter Aging Younger into the equation and hear about Julie’s story. On January 6, 2015, we received a call from a young lady who had just returned from St. Maarten. Remember, in the Americas, it is the Caribbean that is most affected with Chikungunya. Her telephone call was not because she suspected that she had Chikungunya, but simply wanting to know what Aging Younger Anti-Aging Clinic was all about.

Julie came in shortly after her call to talk to us about her skin condition and I noticed her body was covered in a rash from head to toe, her extremities were swollen, her eyes were red and she was complaining of joint pain. She also was extremely distressed and depressed.

We talked and upon probing I learned that she returned from St. Maarten within the last week. My mind immediately went back into what I read two weeks earlier about Chikungunya. I shared my conce
with Julie, and she agreed that she suspected that she contracted the virus and that yes indeed she was bitten by a mosquito during her stay in St. Maarten.
Knowing that Hydrosol silver is the number one Enemy to a virus, I asked Julie if she were open to natural alte
atives to help her body heal. Her eyes lit up as she agreed.
We suggested the following:

1. Hydrate with our alkaline water from the Aging Younger water Ionizer. We suggested she purchase a 5 gallon water jug so we could supply her with the water. She did. http://agingyounger.net/store/products/water-ionizer/

2. Begin a regimen of Rejuvenis OSH Silver and Aloe Vera Juice on an empty stomach 4 times a day to fight off the viral infection. She did.

3. Take Rejuvenis CoQ10 200Mg Lozenges once a day to boost her immune system. She did.

The above suggested protocol began on January 6, 2015. On January 15, 2015, Julie came to Aging Younger’s Wine, Wellness and Networking event without any evidence that she had contracted Chikungunya. At the event, she proudly told her story as to how her body was able to heal itself naturally from a dis-ease which according to the CDC had no treatment path.
