Who uses Chiropractic? Many people do as this is probably the most popular way to naturally heal the back. The chiropractor not only specializes in back pain, but focuses on the neck, work related injuries, vehicle accidents and sports injuries. Let’s take a look at what a chiropractor can do for your back pain. When you’re experiencing back pain, you certainly don’t feel like having someone crack your back or making any kind of adjustments. It’s difficult enough for you to even get out of bed let alone think of letting someone perform a technique on you that you are totally unfamiliar with. Here is some information about what you can expect when you make your first visit to a chiropractor and why a chiropractor can help. The chiropractor will want to discuss your chief complaint as well as conducting a thorough review of you and your family history. He will discuss changes you can make to your lifestyle to help you with you’re your problem. If your pain is severe, they might conduct an x-ray to see if there is an issue below the surface. You may have something out of alignment and this will help them to determine where the problem may be coming from. After making an evaluation of your spine and posture, he may perform what are termed as “adjustments”. There are several different adjusting techniques, but the goal of the adjustment is to return normal flexibility to the affected vertebrae. You will have warning up front before the adjustments are made as the adjustments generally cause a popping sound which might startle you. In time, these noises will lessen or may completely disappear after several sessions. Chiropractors also use Electrical Stimulation for the treatment of wounds involves the application of electrical current through electrodes applied directly to the skin in close proximity to the target wound. There is some evidence that the application of electrical stimulation increases or accelerates the biological activities involved in wound healing (e.g., migration of neutrophils and macrophages, stimulation of fibroblasts, increased blood flow). There are four types of electrical stimulation devices used in wound healing: low intensity direct current (LIDC), high voltage pulse current (HVPC), low voltage pulse micro-amperage alternating current, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). I promote the electrical stimulation as I received it recently from my referred chiropractor on my low back, left shoulder and left knee; there was a noticeable difference after three visits. You may make the decision to see a chiropractor after talking to a friend who has benefitted from their visits to the chiropractor. Whatever the reason, many people have benefitted from the experience and the sessions may be able to prevent you from having future problems.
