Chivalry, A thing of the Past...Or Time to Make a Comeback?

When did chivalry die…and why? I’ve heard it said chivalry and the idea of a true gentleman disappeared with equal rights? Why does a liberated and intelligent woman pose such a threat to the opposite sex? Maybe the problem has been created over a period of time and slow progressed into a generation of men that have little regard for the role women play in their life…?
Change is great, embrace change and the modernization of society, but let’s not forget principles and family values in the process. Even though she has a career outside of the home doesn’t mean you can’t hold the door for her or offer a kind, encouraging word from time to time. She is raising your children and possibly the next male in your family line.
What is even more overwhelming is the amount of men that choose to play video games or hangout at the local bar on a Saturday afternoon rather than spend time with their wife and children, and then can’t understand why their wife treats them like one of the children. This is a comical observation and more than comical, mind blowing. Really, don’t act like child and I won’t treat you like one…
This problem does not lie solely in the fault of the male gender, ladies you are responsible also for this shift in family dynamics because it has been accepted as normal behavior. It’s not about telling another person how to behave or controlling them, it is simply about what you will accept for yourself.
Of course this does not apply to all men and do not want to imply that every member of the male gender has lost sight of gentlemen like qualities, however I do believe many women can relate, and although love their significant other , at times find themselves wondering what happened to the man that promised to love and respected them.

Be true to yourself , before you can be true to another, and never accept less than you are willing to give, because one day the person next to you will not only be your life partner but your best friend as well. Respect must start somewhere within.
