One of the things that most people do not know about eating is that if you combine the wrong combination of foods, it can have negative effects on your health, especially when it comes to your digestion. There are rules and formulas that you can follow to give you better digestion, but many people are not even aware of them and they may seem foreign to some.

I’m sure that we have all seen the ads on television for ways to treat heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach and diarrhea and all of these ailments can be prevented by making sure that we eat the right combination of foods. Digestion is a very important function in our bodies and we must give it close attention. If we eat the right combination of foods with our meals, our bodies will have a much easier time absorbing them and it will be a much more pleasurable experience for us. Lets look at a few rules that we should follow while mixing foods.

Proteins and starches should not be mixed as proteins require acid and starches require alkaline stomach fluids.

Fruits should be eaten by themselves and on an empty stomach.

Eat vegetables with anything that you desire except fruits.

Make sure that you drink a glass of water at least half an hour or so before your meal and do not drink water with your meal.

Eat fruits that are high in enzymes such as bananas, avocados, pineapples and mangos.

Salads need to be eaten before your main meal as the enzymes that they contain will help breakdown the other foods that you will eat in your main meal.

If you are one of those individuals who are on a diet, drinking water may not completely satisfy your cravings , but it will keep you from snacking and it will increase your intake of water. It is suggested that we all should try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

The biggest advantage of knowing the right healthy food combinations to eat is that it can prevent indigestion, acid reflux and other symptoms that can hamper your digestive system. It will also put you on the right track for healthy cooking and eating habits. This will not only benefit your body and help you feel good, it will also improve your moods and make you happier. Anyone who suffers from physical discomfort over a long period of time can also experience mental and emotional strain and this is not healthy for them. So you see, if you do not know the right combination of foods to eat, it can lead to many other problems in your body.

Bad food combinations can also have other harmful effects on the body. If acid reflux problems are not corrected, it can cause cancer cells to develop in the body. This is one of the most drastic examples, but never the less, it can happen. There are some people who end up having to have surgery for acid reflux in order to stop cancer cells from developing. Our bodies must have a balance maintained in order to enjoy maximum health.

It is very important to you that you take the best possible care of your body and develop healthy cooking and eating habits in order to help you live life to the fullest and achieve your goals in life.
