Hundreds of retailers have begun advertising tote bags in their stores offer as an alternative to plastic shopping bags. The aim is to encourage customers to buy these bags and use them every time they shop in their stores. Retailers are hoping that not only save money, plastic bags, but keep them from going to landfills across North America.
Offer a reusable bag alternatives to further extend the benefits to save money and keep the planet green. Promotional tote bags are also an economical means of advertising. Hundreds of these bags can be purchased for less than two dollars per unit, including a printing company. Retailers may, in turn, sell the bags to its customers at cost. This type of advertising often pays for itself, and saves the retailer's buying and giving away plastic shopping bags costs.
It is important, of course, choose your totes, which are considered "green" to a very positive impact on the environment. Invest in "green" bags, retailers should consider the following points:
What bag is made of. Materials that are natural, environmentally conscious retailers should look like. Cotton is one of the best choices of fabrics. Cotton is natural, washable, sturdy and flexible. Retailers who want a heavier material, you might want to consider the canvas. The canvas is made of cotton, making it ideal for heavy lifting, and frequent use of its special weave.
* As the bag is made. Select your tote bags, which are produced by using Earth-friendly methods. For example, the nature of the UN-painted cotton bags are very small carbon footprint for the unit. Another good rule of thumb to choose the greenest promotional bags: less is more. Less and less fancy decorations to speak of the bag, less carbon footprint he leaves. Should be avoided as it defeats the disincentives to the use of plastic bags, which are manufactured using the methods of the harsh and strong chemicals.
* Whether the bag can be recycled. Let face it: re-useable bags, promotional wear and tear over time. Most of last year, for many decades. However, when the inevitable happens, retailers should be able to tell customers how and where they can recycle your tote bags that they buy from you. Clients will be more inclined to invest in one (or more) when they know that the bag will have a second life when it wears out.
Some retailers are even bold step in eliminating plastic grocery bags altogether. They have chosen instead to invest in low-cost promotional tote bags, and sell them at cost or just above cost to its customers. These changes are annoyed by a small handful of patrons, retailers say, but most customers are understanding and strong support for these kinds of moves.
While such change can be considered radical, most recognize that this may be the norm one day. Indeed, in many countries, particularly in Europe and the UK, retailers are not normally offers its customers free plastic bags. This is considered acceptable and socially responsible. Promotional tote bags and everyday life in the business of these retailers, and it is very likely that in North America, one day follow suit.
