Let’s first know something about the origin of Christmas cards. It has been over two thousand years that people started celebrating the occasion. It was only in 1843 when Charles Dickens published A Christmas Carol which surely gained a lot of popularity since people showed immense liking towards the carol. The famous story of the Cratchit family and Ebenezer Scrooge was a hit and Victorian England had almost fallen in love with Christmas. In 1843, Henry Cole commissioned the foremost commercially produced card for this occasion. The person who was responsible for designing the card was John Callcott Horsley. Somewhat more than two thousand cards designed by Horsley were printed. It was not before 1880 that greeting cards for the occasion became a staple for all.
For the creation of cards, you could simply look for tools that are easily available online and get the one which you find the best. Since family members in today’s time are scattered all over the globe so sending them a personalized greeting card would be a good idea and it would not only surprise them but at the same time fill them with great joy and excitement. Such programs are embedded with templates and styles and with various features, each card could be given different look altogether.
