CISRS Scaffold Safety Training - Part 1

CISRS or Construction Industry Scaffolders Records Scheme is a very prestigious entity that has developed a couple of great safety training courses with regards to scaffolding. There are two parts to the popular and coveted CISRS Scaffolding Certification. Part 1 comprises the general scaffolding knowledge and skills while Part 2 emphasizes on the inspection on advanced scaffolding systems.

CISRS Part 1

The national law implemented a legislature where all erections of buildings and towers must be appropriately conducted by approved contractors who are qualified. Hence, the individuals need to display their nationally recognized scaffolding safety training certificate such as CISRS scaffolding certificate before handling any scaffolding on buildings or mobile access towers. This type of certification is widely accepted by the industry and consumers as well as the local authorities on the competency of the contractors to erect, use, dismantle, move or alter the scaffold at the work site.

Course structure

The CISRS Scaffold Card or certification holds great prestige although the course takes only 2 weeks or structured in 10 consecutive days. This course has been designed to adult trainees in the construction or tower industry who has at least 6 months of scaffolding and construction experience. This certification is structured such that the participants would be able to attain not only the prestigious CISRS Scaffold card but also the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Accessing Operations & Rigging Scaffolding in Construction.

The course is structured such that the appropriate skills and knowledge are attained to erect, dismantle and use basic scaffolds at the work site.

Course Objectives

This CISRS Part 1 is developed to train candidates to handle various scaffold types that are used in the market; there are independent scaffolds; mobile and static towers; candidates would be equipped with the right skills and knowledge to erect and dismantle various scaffolding structures that can be as high as 6 meters or equivalent to 3 lifts high.

Course candidates would be able to interpret the relevant and latest health and safety regulations as well as apply them appropriately with the right codes of practice. Candidates can select and make correct inspection of scaffold materials which would be used in the construction job with the right components.

Course Contents

CISRS Part 1 course candidates would be exposed to the latest health and safety issues and legislature during this safety training session with the proper instructions and safety measures to take even with ladders and tie methods of various system scaffolds.
