The sheer number of VoIP providers these days is indeed overwhelming; there are companies that are sprouting here and there and finding the right provider is crucial not only because of the difference in price range but also in the quality of the service and termination that they use. Most people would think that going with the biggest players in the VoIP industry to acquire a cloud PBX system is the best decision, however it just isn’t. There are tons of small providers out there that offer better call quality, better price range, better flexibility and superb customer service when compared to the big boys. Moreover the big boys often offer customers a bundle package pretty much like a traditional phone system because most of them are traditional carriers. Difference of Service Providers Although the concept of a cloud PBX system of taking the phone system in the cloud and eliminating the need for on premise equipment and such is the same across service providers the main difference will be the way the technology is deployed and how it is tendered to the customers. Carriers – One of the main criteria that you should be looking at is the carriers, at this point time in time business grade calling is best served by T1 telcos and other platforms are only designed to handle residential calls. The T1 platform is able to deliver optimum voice quality and connection which is ideal for any business regardless of its size. Data centers and servers – Most business tend to overlook the data center and servers a service provider is running on, the up time and quality of service is will be dictated by these servers. For an instance if your provider’s server is down then you will have problems with your phones. It is best to choose a company that has a back up for everything and has an up time of nothing lower than 99%. Flexibility – Generally the technology is flexible in every way, however some for reason a number VoIP companies tend to limit the flexibility that customers can access. To wield the full benefit of the technology choose a VoIP company that will custom program the features that you need without any bundling involved or requisites as well as increment additions for features. Phone channels and extension. Additionally since there is no hardware involved on setting up a client VoIP subscription need not need to have any lock in periods.
