Before deploying a cloud PBX system there are also requisites that you need to bear in mind to fully benefit from the technology. Although generally the technology itself is seamless it still depends heavily on other technologies to fully maximize it. However don’t be alarmed the requisites are very easily obtainable and are not expensive either. The internet – As well all know the bread and butter of any VoIP solution is the internet and that includes a cloud PBX system. The speed of the internet required is directly proportional to the number of handsets you need and the number of computers that you have. Generally a shared connection is acceptable as long as you do not push the bandwidth to its threshold which is typically ten thousand times the speed of your connection. For an instance a 1 megabit connection has a danger threshold of 10 gigabit. If you are pushing your bandwidth for video streaming, file upload and download and such then you need to acquire a separate internet connection dedicated for your cloud PBX to avoid jitters, delays and any sort of disruption with the call quality. A business grade plan is not necessary but is advisable because usually these plans have better customer support services so in the event that you face difficulties it can be resolved fairly quicker without going through all repair queues. Modem – Basically any modem will work for VoIP usage a standard modem issued by the ISP will be just fine however if you have a single connection for computers and phone then it is advisable to acquire a new modem specifically models with QoS. This enables the router to prioritize VoIP traffic over your computer usage to avoid any interference during a phone call. rnDespite a wide array of brands and models available in the market today It is still advisable that you seek assistance from your VoIP provider with regards to a modem purchase, seek for their recommendations to avoid any inconvenience. Network router – Although there are some modems that are capable of delivering multiple connections you might still need to acquire a network especially if you have multiple phones and computers since most modems only 4 four ports. Networks routers will you give you all the extra ports that you need, depending on the model there are some that has 24 switch ports ideal for multiple phones and computers. Just a tip though, before heading and purchasing any units that you need with regards to your VoIP phones be sure to check first with your service provider to avoid any incompatibility issues and such.
