What is a Cloud PBX? A cloud PBX is another service offered by VoIP service providers, basically it is a feature rich business grade phone system that instead of using copper wires and PST network to connect end points it utilizes the internet. The idea of the technology is to have the phones in the cloud pretty much how a website works. By doing so the distance boundaries are eliminated as well allowing the users to capitalize on the advantages of the technology. Feature wise, the system is capable of doing pretty much anything a traditional phone can and most f it comes as a standard or for free. For an instance you might be paying your current telecommunications company a certain amount to have a caller ID, conference calls and such but with the system these features are for free and are automatically built onto it. Other features like menu system, greeting messages, call queue, dual ring, line hunt, trivia on hold, recorded help messages, multiple location and multiple business integration can also be custom programmed depending on your needs and requirements and most of it are just a onetime payment, meaning there are no monthly cost just a set up fee. What is SIP Trunk SIP trunk or Session Initiation Protocol is again another service offered by VoIP providers, the technology was designed to replace conventional trunk lines that are often too expensive. The bulk of the savings will be coming from a SIP trunk as it generates lower dial rates and lower line rentals. The technology works by eliminating the need for a PRI or primary rate interface and PST network, by doing so calls are significantly cheaper because it only uses one network and that is the SIP network of your provider and if in case a call requires to be dislodged in a PST network to be connected properly it is transferred in the nearest exchange from the number prefix you are calling therefore still keeping the cost down.
