The sheer number of cloud PBX service provider these days is both a benefit and a disadvantage, a benefit because the competition will push service providers to make their services better as well as their prices and a disadvantage because it will be difficult to determine which provider offers the best solution in the market today. However it is really quite easy to scale down good cloud PBX service providers. All you need to is to know what they should be giving you and determine the value that you will be getting from the money that you will be spending with them. Phone system solution – your cloud PBX service provider should offer you a business grade solution rather than a fixed phone system wherein you need to adapt to it. A true solution will adapt to your business regardless of how you run, what niche you’re in and the products and service that you offer. Typically a customized cloud PBX system will be ideal because it will be designed according to your requirements so you can expect that it will do the job for you. Versatile calling plans – Your service provider must also lay out multiple calling plans not a fixed plan where you have no choice but to pay the specified amount whether you use it or not. It is best that you choose a pre-paid plan in that way you will only have to pay for your actual call usage. On top of that a pre-paid plan will mitigate any risk of hacking or log in misplacement. Phone configuration options – Cloud PBX systems can be configured in various ways, your service provider must not oblige you to buy IP phones if you do not want to upon signing up with them. A company that is centered towards solution should give options to the client. If you wish to use IP phones then you should be provided a list of models and brands with recommendations and if you wish to opt for a soft phone then you should be given a list of tested software both for paid and free versions. DID options – An integral part of any phone system will be the telephone number, you should be given a wide array of options from toll free hotlines to special numbers. The provider should not just allocate you a number without your approval. Although most of the time it is not within the service provider’s control what numbers will be available but still they should give you a list and confirm your approval before proceeding with the allocation.
