Common Written Exam- For Bank Recruitment By IBPS

Institute of Banking Personnel is one of the biggest recruiters for bank related jobs. It has been successful in recruiting thousands of deserving candidates to their right posts in various public sector banks of India. It is an autonomous institution for recruitment like, UPSC for IAS exams. It conducts exams and interviews for various posts offered by public sector banks in India. It has made immense progress in the recent few years, and Common Written Exam (CWE) is one if it’s recent achievements. It is a novel way of conducting large scale recruitment for the pot of Bank PO in 19 public sector banks.

Common written exam has been a subject under revision since a few years. However, this year, in 2011, it finally got mandate from Managing Committee of the India's Banks Association (IBA) along with the consent of government of India. There are 19 public sector banks which have volunteered to participate in CWE. They are Allahabad Bank, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Indian Bank, Vijaya Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, Punjab and Sind Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, etc. CWE is a pre-requisite to gain entry for any clerical post in any of these banks. Once you clear the exam with minimum qualifying marks, you will be a given a score card. If any vacancy arrives in any of these participatory public sector banks, you can gain direct entry to the interview round by presenting your score card.

IBPS ensures that the need and requirement of its clients is put before first and therefore, it decided to give chance to all those talents who go unnoticed due to lack of seats. CWE would ensure entry of the candidates purely on the basis of their skill and competence. The syllabus is also designed by the trained and experienced faculty of IBPS who aim to judge the candidate in all areas and not merely textual knowledge. They will test every aspect of the candidate's personality through questions comprising of various areas. Current affairs will also be a major part of the CWE.

IBPS has introduced CWE for large scale recruitment. It is a novel recruitment procedure in India and is yet to gain popularity. However, it would ensure that nobody misses an opportunity to exhibit their skill and competence in CWE.
