It’s no surprise that many households today are looking into VoIP solutions with price being the driving factor, In fact VoIP usage worldwide is growing in an astonishing rate and that doesn’t only go for the business sector alone. Households these days are simply charmed with the low calling rates and flexible pricing structures that most service providers are offering. Pricing structures of VoIP services range from a low dial rate plan, fixed monthly plan, unlimited calling, zero flag falls and prepaid. With that said it is simply irresistible to make the switch, indeed benefits of technology is revolutionary but like any other solutions it should be deployed properly to enjoy its full benefits and part of it is being able to acquire the proper requisites for the system. Although there are very few communication supplies needed to run a VoIP phone all the units should be of quality to avoid any call interference and such. The heart and soul of any VoIP solution be it for business or residential will be the internet connection, households need not to acquire a business grade plan since it is likely that only one phone will running through the internet, if you are pushing your internet too hard like video streaming, downloading massive files in multiple computers then you may face some jitters or interruption but the a simple solution can be implemented and that is by tweaking your modem’s settings. Ask your service provider to set your modem to prioritize VoIP traffic so the modem will give priority to your phone calls which will in turn improve your overall calling experience. For home networks, typical routers will just fine especially the newer models since this has been manufactured with VoIP in consideration. However like your modem you can also configure the settings of your router to give enough priority to your phones to avoid jitters or any interference. Ask your service provider the models that they recommend and be sure that the communication supply shop that you will be purchasing from also knows about VoIP just in case the specific models are not available. Probably the most neglected part of any network be it home or office is the cables, most people think that they are all the same however you’ll be surprise that cables also have different models for different functions. Be sure that you purchase a cable that is specific for your needs to maximize the capabilities of your network and phone. It will also help if you ducts and faceplate to sort out cables, not only it will organize it but will also protect it from any damage.
