Although I am a non-British individual but I always love exploring Britain and other place every time I get spare time. Many times I heard about Great British Menu but never got the chance to sooth my taste buds. Recently I was in Lancashire and fortunately I was in a restaurant known for traditional British food prepared by experts. There I come to know about the famous local British food for that I only heard about from my British friends.

The dinner part of a great British menu comprises of an inspiring array of meat dishes with fabulous game from the local area, make for some amazing interpretations to suit all palates. Fish and shellfish are a major feature. The best part is that menus each day are enhanced with daily specialties.

Let’s talk about the first course. The composition includes Bowland Beef Tartare, Ascroft’s Cauliflower Carpaccio, Cauliflower and Horseradish Cream, Marrowbone and Caper Toast. The second option includes Black Pudding & Buttered Pink Trout, Mustard & Watercress Sauce. Similarly the lunch can be enjoyed as a lavish 5 course or a lighter 4 course gourmet experience.

The main course options include breast of Goosnargh Duck, Leg Fritter, Spiced Red Cabbage, Turnips, Mead, Bowland Hare, Faggot, Celeriac Puree, Wild Mushrooms, Roasted Beefs, Sandwich of Skate, Roast Garlic and Parsley Snails, Burnt Butter and Lemon Sauce. You can also choose to enjoy Plain Grilled or Pan Fried Fish of the Day, Garden Vegetables, New Potatoes, Tartare Sauce.

Take a look at the “Desserts” section from the Great British Menu including Banana “In its own skin”, Coffee and Toffee, melting ginger pudding, iced double cream, caramel custard, vanilla and rum roasted pineapple jelly, Eccles cake ice cream, and a selection of British Cheese from the Northcote Cheese Board.
