Local residents of New Hampshire should be more aware and informed of the consequences that they would have to deal with if they decide to continue being uninsured and unwilling to avail a New Hampshire long term care insurance policy. Those residents who think like this may not have even a small idea of the risks that they are bound to regret simply because they were not able to obtain factual details about the LTC plans that are available in their state. It is true that the premiums of this insurance type may be a bit expensive for the public and not all can afford paying for it. However, if they continue to think this way, they could end up spending all their life savings, investments, and other personal assets just to be able to use and get all the possible LTC-related services that they would need. The rates of these insurance policies continue to rise almost every year, making it even more difficult for some individuals to avail an LTC insurance policy. As a matter of fact, the prices of LTC services in this state had a 9% increase on the assisted living facilities that operate in certain locations and areas. This increase is a little too high than the national average, and this may even get higher in the coming years. A local resident may have to pay an approximate of $105,000 every year if they would avail a private room in a nursing home while those who choose to be confined in an assisted living facility with a single occupancy bedroom would have to pay over $50,000 a year. Take note that these are the New Hampshire long term care costs at the moment. Two to three years from now, the amount will be more expensive and may still be higher than the other LTC facilities located in the other states. By then, it would be more complicated for those who belong below the poverty level and even to those who earn averagely. The baby boomers and those who would require receiving LTC benefits early due to bad health condition would definitely feel the consequences of not owning an LTC insurance policy. The savings that they have may not be enough to address all their LTC requirements and might even be consumed even before they have the chance to receive all their needed treatments. If the projected increase of 87% in the New Hampshire’s population of people aged 80 and above becomes real, then the local government should push harder and convince more residents to take responsibility with regards to their LTC needs. Otherwise, they have to find other ways and resources aside from Medicaid just to make sure that they provide the medical requirements of their people. This is not an easy task particularly because the residents are more cautious of how they spend their money and other income. But if the government and other private sectors would try harder, then they just might convince and encourage more people to avail a New Hampshire long term care insurance in order to be spared of all the hassles and burdens that the future LTC costs might give them. After all, everybody deserves peace of mind and a relaxed disposition in life while living their golden years.
