If you're just starting out with copywriting then it's important that you understand the basics first. The ability to move to more advanced levels of effective copy writing will be more difficult without the understanding of the basic foundation. The purpose of this article is to give you a clear and concise idea as to how you should go about with copywriting as a beginner ...
Your First Sentence is of the Utmost Importance: Besides the headline, your copy's first sentence is critical. This is because this is where your readers start reading your offer. If the first sentence in your copy is not impressive, then your prospect will move on. Instead of creating momentum, you have to grab your prospect's attention in the very beginning. Do not try to create mystery at the start of your copy because this will not be effective. Make sure that you do not use a dishonest method because your prospects will want to know what is going to happen next. It will be a while before you talk your prospect into taking action. But, you should get the beginning part correct before it comes to that.
Your Copy Should Flow Smoothly: As you write your copy, pay attention to how it flows. You don't want your reader to reach a point in the copy where he or she gets bored or confused, as this is how you lose people. It should flow form one sentence to another, from one paragraph to another and from one sub-headline to another. You want them, after all, to reach the bottom of the page and take action, so you have to make sure you don't lose them along the way. For this reason, the best copy is usually confined to a single page, as this way you have the best chance of retaining readers till the end. As you write your copy, then, try to make it flow as naturally as possible so people will want to keep reading.
Talk about the Guarantee: One of the things that will make your copy work is the guarantee that accompanies your copy. This is where you reduce the customer's risk. Make them feel comfortable about order your product or service. Get your prospects to see that there is no risk associated with getting your product. Even if you do not have a long drawn out guarantee, you will experience plenty of sales if it is done right. Your sales copy should convince your prospect that you have a risk free product that is wonderful for them.
Keep in mind that your prospect needs to connect with you on a personal level, as a real person, so you should give him more clarity with your copy rather than cause confusion.
