COUNT TO TENrnHow many times have you reacted in a way you later regretted? rnHow many times, after a period of reflection, have you said to yourself Irncould have handled that situation better? When questioning yourself in this way you have realized that yournmust not allow your negative emotions to define you and the wayrnyou react.rnAll emotions drain your life force. All personal emotions are energyrnthat is mixed and distributed with all energy in the universe. All thisrnenergy is recycled, given and received, in constant movement andrnshared around. What goes around comes around. The sharing of good or constructive energy is what makes the universernand all of creation work. It makes the universe flow to the benefitrnof all those who can tap into it. Conversely, destructive or negativernenergy will not only be of little benefit to the universe or yourself, itrnwill flow back to you. What you give out you will receive by return. Negative energy is the result of wrong thinking. Cognitive psychologistsrnbelieve depression or acute anxiety is the product of wrong thinking.rnWhat is agreed by all is that debilitating and negative thought is bothrndraining and self-fulfilling.rnDefault-mode, instant thoughts create our anger not actual events.rnIf you can be in control of your mind you can chose your responsernto any situation. If you rein in your emotions of anger and retainrnyour self-esteem, you will avoid releasing negative energy into thernuniverse. Next time you confront a situation where your instantrnreaction is anger; stop and consider if that emotion is going to changernor improve the situation. Understanding and compassion might bernmuch more effective. ‘Anyone can become angry – that is easy. But to be angry with thernright person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the rightrnpurpose and in the right way – that is not easy.’ Aristotle. Action: Don’t waste your own energy and contaminate the energyrnflow of the universe on negative emotions. Think before allowingrnfrustration and anger to be your automatic response to tryingrnsituations.
