Would you like to create a website that is attractive to people and search engines at the same time? People are interested in information they are looking for and Google, Yahoo and other popular sites are looking for websites that they can read and identify as being popular to the browsing community. This article is going to talk about the importance of designing your website for people and search engines at the same time, the value of implementing good on-page optimization, and how off-page optimization is the final key to success.
Websites need to be designed for both people and search engines at the same time. A website can be well optimized and can show up when people are searching for information but it can still be ugly and appear as a bad source of information. When this happens people are likely to click away and go to another site. On the other hand a website can be designed in an attractive style that looks professional but it is not a site that gets registered into the search engines. People then do not have a way of finding the website. When a website is designed nicely and well optimized for crawlers it can appear in the top of a search result and have an appearance that people like. This can lead to a large website audience.
Good on-page optimization is not difficult to accomplish and even though it will probably not put a website near the top of a search result by itself it can be a vital step for obtaining good visibility at Google, Yahoo, and Bing. A webpage should be built for a particular keyword phrase. If a website is trying to get well positioned for 20 phrases, then that website will need at least 20 pages. The keyword phrase that a webpage is targeting should be found in the page title, in the content title inside of a header 1 or 2, and it should show up in the first and last 20 words of the content. The keyword phrase should not be overused as that could appear like spamming so that search engines decide to block the website from its listings.
Off-page optimization is the final and most important key to success. Off-page optimization is all about the links that are pointing to your website. Google gives more notice to links that point to a website when the website does not have a link pointing back. This is known as one way links. Links are like a vote and the page rank or PR value of the website that has the link pointing to your website carries more value the higher the PR level is.
When a website is attractive to both people and to search engine, has good on-page optimization built into it, and has good off-page optimization it can then appear on the #1 or #2 position on a Google search. When this happens the website can have several thousand visitors a month and bring in some good money.
