Make ringtone for iPhone You can easily set up a ringtone via 'Settings> Sounds> Ringtone'. However, you can not set your own ringtone or make a specific selection of the ringtone. Maybe you just want to set the chorus of your favorite song or your own drum solo as your ringtone. You can download iphone ringtones and songs and you can do that via iTunes on your computer or laptop. Before you can hear your own ringtone on your iPhone, you have to go through a number of steps. Follow the steps below to create and set your own ringtone.
  • Open iTunes on your computer, add the music file in the program and right-click on the number and choose 'Show info';
  • Then go to the 'Options' tab. Now set the start and end times for the number you want and click on 'OK'. The maximum length for a ringtone on your iPhone is 30 seconds so do not choose a longer selection;
  • Now go to 'File> Convert> Create version for AAC' on the home screen. Now the song is in the iTunes list with the correct play time;
  • The mp3 file has now been changed from extension to a m4a file. Select this file click on the right mouse button and choose 'Show in Windows Explorer'. To be able to play the file as a ringtone on your iPhone, change the extension again to m4r. You do this in Windows Explorer. If this does not work, turn off "Hide extensions for unknown file types" in "Control Panel → Folder Options → View";
Move the new m4r file from Windows Explorer to Library in iTunes. Now the ringtone is under the tab 'Show';rnConnect your iPhone to your computer and synchronize 'Show';rnOn your iPhone, go to 'Settings → Hear and Feel → Ringtone' and select the ringtone you just created. Create ringtone for Android Making your own ringtone for Android is a lot less cumbersome. For this you can use the user-friendly Ringtone Maker app . With this app you turn sound files into your own alarm signal, notification sound or ring tone. Note: you can only use MP3, flac, ogg, wav, aac, mp4, 3gpp or amr files. Select the sound clip of which you want to create a ringtone. Scroll through the list, use the search function or press 'Browse' in the menu; In the next screen you select the start and end point with two sliders. With the upper slider you set the starting point, with the lower end point. You can zoom in and out with the tools at the bottom of the screen. When you're done, press save (the floppy icon at the top); Give your ringtone a name and indicate whether it should be your standard ringtone, or whether it should be assigned to a specific contact person.
