Creating A Positive Relationship With Money
According to the Bible, the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. This tells us two things: first of all, the people who keep misquoting it as "money is the root of all evil" are full of it. Second, that it's possible to develop an unhealthy relationship with money.
Money is one of the top three topics that couples fight about(the other two are sex and in-laws). Many people don't like talking about money or money matters; it makes people feel uncomfortable. To some, it's a crass topic. To wiser souls, it's recognized as a surefire way to start an argument (see the comment about couples!).

Love and money- two concepts that can be difficult to navigate
But love it or hate it, we can't live without money, so let's not even try to say otherwise. Instead, here are four suggestions on how to create a positive relationship with your money. Once you finish with these, check out some more on the subject by reading "3 Secrets To A Healthy Relationship With Money".
Keep A Sense Of Perspective
Money is important, but it shouldn't be the end-all, be-all of your life. While it belongs in the top five priorities in life, it shouldn't have the Number One slot. When considering a course of action, the financial aspect should be taken into account, but it shouldn't be the thing that holds you back.
Don't let money woes overly influence your mood, turning you from being an otherwise happy person into a miserable, angry individual who no one wants to be around. While it's wise to be concerned about how money is being spent, letting it eat you alive with worry helps no one, especially yourself.
Respect It
Any good relationship has an element of respect to it, and your relationship with money is no exception. Don't take it for granted, or throw it away for silly or useless reasons. Money is a powerful force, and needs to be given the gravitas it demands. It's not to be taken lightly, and that means being mindful of its presence, as in how much of it you have on hand, and how fast is it building up (or more importantly, slipping away!).
Acknowledge That Mistakes Will Be Made
It's common for there to be missteps in a relationship; in fact, it's inevitable. But when there's a misunderstanding, both parties work to clear the air, put the incident behind them, and move on. Here's a news flash: no matter how careful you are, you will make some bad financial choices, succumb to ridiculous impulse buys, or overdraw your bank account. When these things happen, learn from your mistakes and move on.
Plan A Life Together
When you're in a good relationship, you make long-term plans for spending quality time together. No, you don't have to take your money or investment portfolio with you on a romantic weekend; but it's important for you and your money to grow old together, so make sure you have made plans for the future. Look into investments (even something as basic as buying a house), start a 401K, sock some away in savings.
So there you have it; a quartet of ways that you and your money can become best buds. For more insights into money-related ideas, check out "Money Management Advice: Basic Money Management Strategies Online for Debt Relief and Wealth Buildup".
Remember: money can't buy happiness, but a lack of money will certainly bring misery.
