Thanksgiving is a time for friends, family and food. Regardless of how the food turns out, the most important part of the celebrations happen at your table – which will be a focal point of the gatherings. Use these great ideas for Thanksgiving decorations to bring harvest delight to your Thanksgiving table.

You could start with traditional Thanksgiving decorations like a cornucopia or a ‘horn of plenty’ which can make for a bountiful centerpiece and the colors and textures are a visual delight. Bouquets of preserved autumn leaves can also convey the warm tones of this holiday, as will having wreaths of these leaves.

Your Thanksgiving decorations should definitely include tablecloths, runners, napkins, napkin rings and themed plates with autumnal motifs like fall leaves, pinecones, pumpkins, etc. You can also use your carving knife to make Thanksgiving decorations from hollowed-out mini pumpkins to serve dips and sauces or even as votive holders.

Speaking of carving pumpkins, you can also reuse Halloween accessories like dried pumpkins, pip berries and tree branches. Gilded pumpkins would be as perfect for Thanksgiving as they would be for Halloween accessories. With a little bit of imagination and maybe a touch of glitter, you can create décor items for these two holidays with ease. Halloween accessories like a glass pumpkin jar to store your candy will delight your trick-or-treaters and you can reuse this for Thanksgiving to store nuts or display potpourri.

Creating old-fashioned silhouettes of your family for Halloween can easily be made into a display or even place cards for your Thanksgiving table. Reuse Halloween accessories like ribbons, silk flowers and even graphic paper to add to your fall table décor. If you have flowers and ribbons in rich plums or bright coppers, use them to adorn your Thanksgiving centerpiece and they will fit right into the theme.

Candles in red and gold can be used for both holidays so make sure you buy these colored candles for their warmth and accent lighting. In this way, you can invest in some seasonal classic décor items for fall which you can easily adapt as Thanksgiving decorations and Halloween accessories.
