An advertising agency which creates solutions and do not think about your customer is completely waste of time, money and efforts. The times are gone when businesses used to sell and buy products to customers. Now customers choose you. They make the decision about picking you up from the counter, or the shelf. So, better select an agency which can design and conceptualize customer centric benefits of your products.
Ideally, a concept should be an ideal mix of creativity and marketing. Never fancy about creativity too much. It is somehow, a bit overrated. During my stint as a copywriter, I have learnt this thing that at the end of the day, it is all about figures. Figures -that could be related to revenues and profit for the client.
It can only be possible when the customers have increased and customers can only be driven home when they have chosen you over your competitors and they have liked your product better. They should accept the fact that you are beneficial for them. They should see you as a value. If you are selling a comics book, you should picture value for their money in terms of entertainment, time and money. As a client, you should also understand that do not try to stuff your communication into one collateral, ad or e-mailer. That won’t work. Trust me.
Assess and identify the USPs of your product. Make a strategy and then carry out communication with perfect sales oriented concept in different steps. Sit with your creative team over a cup of coffee and map out the communication in steps. For instance, two Press Releases and one e-mailer in the first week of January and third week could see a brochure and flyer in the market detailing your product’s benefits.
One thing, I would also like to pinpoint that do not rob your creative team their right of creative satisfaction. Make it clear that they are ready to go ahead with any kind of communication as long as it speaks YOU. Any creativity regardless of its awesomeness is not worth of your brand if it doesn’t speak about your brand.
Furthermore, I am talking about the most important part of any marketing strategy- Customer. A customer can be the best ambassador of any given brand. No advertising or marketing can equal the value of a client. He can be a brand evangelist or even a brand destroyer as well. The word of mouth publicity works better than any publicity. No ad can give you publicity better than your customer. When your customer praises you, you get another customer. So, care about the feedback of your customers.
Know about their opinions. This curiosity of knowing the feedback of customers has led companies to proactively participating in Social Media Marketing where they welcome customers and let them share their feedback. Companies like GAP, which underestimated the importance of SMM, are one of the most enlightening examples of letting people know that how crucial Social Media is nowadays.
