I thought I was, and would make me do more in a positive sense. He was the first person who taught me not to be afraid of failure. ~ Mike Krzyzewski
Have you ever experienced any event in your life where someone was behind you, supporting and encouraging you, and pointing out the pitfalls that would keep you from getting where you said you wanted to go? Have you always had to rely only on your own best judgment along with the mistakes you’ve made? Would you enjoy a different way to success?
Does Using a Coach Mean I’m Not Capable?
I am smiling when I ask that question, because so many people who are strong, resilient, capable and self-directed think that somehow, someway, using a coach is a sign of weakness. Have you ever thought that perhaps it’s a sign of brilliance and efficiency?
What IS Life Coaching?
Wikipedia defines Life Coaching as a practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life coaches assist clients by using a variety of tools and techniques. Life coaching draws inspiration from disciplines such as sociology, psychology, positive adult development and career counseling. Specialty life coaches may have degrees in psychological counseling, hypnosis, dream analysis, marketing and other areas relevant to providing guidance.
Positive Results, Fast
Coaches – life coaches, business coaches, change coaches – all have spent time learning the best skills to help their clients to achieve more. Because of this, when a client works with a coach, he experiences success faster than normal, because a coach knows where the rocks in the road are and how to get around them. He coaches his clients in the most efficient steps to take to achieve the greatest successes quickly.
Super Moms enjoy using a coach because that coach looks at the Super Mom’s whole life when it comes to goal setting, the creation of specific outcome, and basic change. A coach can help a Super Mom to discover her own capabilities, her own solutions, her own positive emotions that can propel her toward solving her Super Mom challenges.
Of what does your dream life consist? Have you taken the time to really analyze what the end of the road looks like for you and whether you can specifically create the satisfaction you long for? Here are some aspects of coaching that might inspire you. You can determine which kind would best serve you.
Happiness
One of the things we Super Moms worry about is our family’s happiness and oftentimes we get so involved in that, we forget to look after our own happiness. A Life Coach would not allow you to forget yourself, because a coach sits in the cat bird seat and can see more clearly the patterns in your life and where you might need to add a touch of happiness, for example, to your own experience first so that you CAN then add it to the rest of the family.
If you have a sense of “lack luster” about your happiness, a life coach can help you dig down into your negative feelings, resolve them, and bring up a fresh new direction that will make you happy.
Relationships
Some life coaches specialize in Relationship Coaching, and some Super Moms out there can use this kind of help. If your current relationship isn’t harmonious, or if you’re recently divorced, or if you are thinking of a second marriage, a relationship coach can help to steer you through these issues.
Your relationships define who you are, and help you to identify your strong and weak points of character. Using the assistance of a relationship coach, his or her vision can shorten that process. These coaches have in their kit bags a raft of questions to help you discover who you are, what you want, what you want in a relationship, and how to get past the old games that created dissatisfaction in the first place.
Health Issues
Wellness or health coaches specialize in getting you to the best health you can experience quickly and their skills are focused only on this aspect of your life. Many of these coaches have you take an initial wellness survey to benchmark where you are so they can discover if you need education, rehabilitation, nutrition or workout coaching.
As Super Moms, we sometimes set our own health requirements aside due to our busy schedules. If you are feeling less-than regarding your health, and your doctor approves, it may be time for a tune up with a Health and Wellness coach.
Reaching or Exceeding Your Life Goals
When you work with a Life Coach, you learn so much about your own inner workings. It’s truly a journey within, and it’s generally very enlightening and enjoyable for the coaching client. It generates a strong sense of hope and capability. It unfolds more self-confidence and self-esteem. Most importantly, you’ll learn about the beliefs you’ve got set up that limit you, and once you can see them, they dissolve allowing you to step closer to the goal post.
All coaches are required to adhere to strict industry standards because they handle the most sensitive, intimate details of our lives. I hope you Super Moms feel encouraged to seek the assistance of a coach. Not only will it help you, it will tumble down and help your family, too.
'How' is a great thing to know. 'Why' is the ultimate. I'm the 'why' coach. Why are we doing this? Why are we not doing that? Why is this not working? Those are the things I want to know. ~ Mike Singletary
