Traditional firewall security Vs New generation firewall
The conventional cyber security software is used to process traffic based ports and protocols. For instance, it can either block or allow the entire port 80 for HTTP traffic port only or the port 443 for HTTPS traffic only. This can be simply coined as the “all or nothing” approach.
On the other hand, the next-generation firewall ensures the filtering of traffic based on applications or by traffic traversing these ports. For instance, it can assign port 80 to open only to some selected HTTP traffic or to specific applications, sites and services that you wish to allow. This combines the quality of the firewall and its service functionalities into one.
rnThe application-aware firewall security softwares are considered as the next generation firewalls or NGFWs. But they are originally known as Unified Threat Management solution (UTM). However, the UTM firewalls are considered to be the products which face deficiency in true application-awareness and are directed towards the SMB market. They are well equipped to offer additional functionalities such as antivirus, anti spam, or intrusion prevention systems (IPS) providing excellent cyber security.
rnCertainly, aspects such as security and bandwidth control are varying due to the fine-tuning of traffic provided by NGFWs. They are designed to act smarter and thus provide thorough inspection of malicious activities and have the ability to capture them. Another reason why one should opt for the traditional firewall is its ability to filter the contents allowing QoS functions to operate. It works by giving the applications with higher priority, a higher priority bandwidth.
rnHaving a better firewall security is not just limited to improve cyber security, they are also designed to enhance cloud services and outsource software.
Common Features of NGFWs:
rn1. Port/protocol inspection, network address translation (NAT), and VPN are some of the common firewall functionalities.
rn2. Application identification and filtering.
rn3. SSL and SSH inspection: Additional safety from malicious applications by using encryption.
rn4. Wiser and deeper traffic monitoring makes new generation firewalls easier to carry out intrusion detection and prevention.
Security software can be easily configured for multiple updates as it generally consists of firmware upgrades and update wizards to keep your system updated and protected.

What to Consider When Adopting Multi-Tenancy in Kubernetes?
Organizations are starting to scale their cloud native operations. And as they do, the inefficiency of managing dozens of isolated clusters has become an evident problem. As the clusters continue to sprawl, businesses must unite diverse workloads onto shared infrastructure. This is because companies need better resource utilization and centralized governance among other things. But it is imperative to remember that going from a single tenant to a multi-tenant environment need

Product Engineering Services: Driving Faster Development for Startups
It has been for everyone to see the short product lifecycles and a pressing need for rapid technical scalability that have come to define the modern startup ecosystem. For early-stage companies, the challenge is no longer just conceptualizing a solution. But they must also carry it out with enough precision to withstand high market volatility and fierce competition. We know that internal teams concentrate on core business strategy and fundraising. That still leaves us with th

Why Modern Facilities Rely on Environmental Monitoring and Remote Temperature Probes for Compliance and Control
In today’s regulated and data-driven environments, organizations are under constant pressure to ensure that temperature and environmental conditions remain within defined limits. Even small fluctuations can result in product loss, compliance violations, or operational downtime. As a result, many facilities are moving away from manual checks and standalone sensors and adopting comprehensive environmental monitoring solutions instead. An environmental monitor provides rea

Role of Data Warehousing in Ensuring Data Quality and Consistency
Organizations have come to rely heavily on large amounts of data in today's competitive markets. But to what end? For starters, to inform strategic decisions and power machine learning models. It goes without saying that the value of these digital assets is completely dependent on the accuracy of the underlying data. So, when data is fragmented or inconsistent across departments, you will obviously have inaccurate reporting and operational inefficiencies at your hands. This c
