Romans 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service."
Our service and obedience to God is the best thing we could ever to for God. Without faith and obedience, it will be hard for us to truly connect and get close with God. Once we start believing in God, we are ought to obey his commands. Whether you like it or not, there are a lot commands that God has commanded us to do.
One of which, be a descipler.

Matthew 29:18-20, And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
You cannot be choosy on what commands to obey. Once you start believing on God, that's the time you start obeying Him.
