Dangerous roads

Thinking of taking a driving holiday in the UK this year? If so it might be worth making a note of where the top most dangerous roads in Britain are and take extra car if you happen to be on one of them, or perhaps just try and avoid them all together. Other roads into Buxton are also fraught with accidents; The A5004 Whaley Bridge to Buxton had 15 serious accidents in the same period and the A54 from Congleton to Buxton had 20. 2. The A255 from Margate to Ramsgate, a road length of only 8 kilometres but which in the period 2005-2007 experienced 18 serious accidents in addition to 61 accidents involving pedestrians or cyclists. 3. Other roads to keep vigilant on are the A285 towards Petworth, the A621 towards Totley and the A686 from Penrith to Haydon Bridge. Scotland is thought to have some of the most dangerous roads due to their remoteness, the sever bends and the steep falls. In addition to topography, speed is also a factor in some instances in addition to the design and layout of the roads. In Scotland for instance, there are a lot of dry-stone walls encompassing the roads and contributing to the severity of any accidents. To minimise the risk of accidents make sure you don’t drive beyond your capabilities and follow signs for speed and other warning sign. Treat every other road user as a possible danger and double-check both mirrors and blind spots before making a manoeuvre or turning at a junction.
