Addiction strikes an untold number of people across all walks of life. For many, alcohol addiction and drug addiction can be a slow, perhaps more acceptable form of suicide masquerading as addiction. Addiction can take many forms; from alcohol to drug addiction, food to gambling addictions and hundreds of other variations. On the surface it would appear that there are many forms and many factors involved. This may be true yet, at the core of nearly all forms of addiction, lies a single common problem, according to Michael George, author of Instant Joy.

“We do not control our minds,” stated Mr. George, “but rather our minds control us. Stated in the simplest of terms, this is fact. Nearly everyone will agree with this. This is so basic to the problem of addiction that it is seldom acknowledged. Yet to date no one has come up with a widely accepted solution to the problem of simply learning to control the mind. Addiction is but one of many scenarios in which the mind of the person actually controls the person.”

Alcohol and drug addiction costs millions of dollars and thousands of lives each year. Every year thousands of people make the decision to quit. Many of these people seek and receive treatment for their addictions, yet relapse percentages are staggeringly high.

Nearly everyone agrees that the mind is totally responsible for our entire experience of the world. If we can learn to change our minds, we can change our entire world. Yet very few people are able to accomplish this simple feat. Those who do learn to control their own minds can begin to learn to control anything in their experience – including addictions.

“If we could learn to control our minds,” stated Mr. George, “all forms of unwanted addiction would simply disappear. This is not a gullible or an innocent perspective – it is fact. But we cannot change our minds by simply changing our behavior. If we take a ‘Just Say No’ approach, the mind will continue to desire that object of addiction. Even when the substance has been completely removed through medical detoxification, the mind will often continue on this addictive path. What the mind wants the mind will get. To overcome this we must change the mind first, for when the mind has been changed, behavior will naturally follow. This will result in no struggle, no strain and a much smaller chance of relapse. Very few people have been able to accomplish this. The method detailed in Instant Joy will allow anyone to learn to control the mind; to overcome these urges, immediately and completely.”

Any form of addiction, without exception, must be treated at the medical level by a certified health care professional. However, once this detoxification has been accomplished, the struggle becomes a struggle with the mind itself.

George’s book, Instant Joy, has been compared in writing style to that of Eckhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra. Instant Joy details a simple, easy to learn method that can allow one to instantly and immediately learn to control the mind, resulting in the resolution of life problems and the achievement of life goals, including the problem of addiction.
