While in that position, he handled loan workouts, supervised bankruptcies and foreclosures as well as any litigation. He provided legal advice to senior management. He also developed a system of reviewing all bank-owned property for the purposes of appealing their real estate tax assessements. Following his time at Collective Bank, Mr. Bernstein decided to utilize his experience as a bank attorney to help individuals and developed a personal bankruptcy practice, where he has handled hundreds of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings. He also represented individuals and municipalities relating to their tax appeals and real estate matters. In addition, Mr. Bernstein has prepared numerous wills and trusts for his clients. Recently, in an effort to expand his practice, Mr. Bernstein joined the legal firm of Youngblood, Lafferty and Sampoli, P.A., as of-counsel.
