Ortiz’s suspension cut to three games
David Ortiz started serving the 3-game suspension imposed on him (due to the brawl between the Red Sox and the Orioles in which he participated) yesterday when his team defeated Baltimore 15-10. The player was also imposed a fine for an amount that was undisclosed. “I know doing what I did wasn’t the right thing to do,” Ortiz said“ I’m going to be punished because of that, like anyone else. I just want to get it over with and continue the season.” he continued.

This represents another period of inactivity for Ortiz, as he saw only eleven at-bats during 9 interleague matches in NL ballparks from June 24 to July 3, and according to the designated hitter, to be inactive is not on his best interest. It won’t help me, you know what I’m saying, and I’ve just got to keep doing what I’m supposed to do and try not to put too much in my head and go out there when the time comes and start playing again and play my best.” ?” Ortiz said.

New rule can make NFL games last longer
The lockout is almost over and it seems that there will be a 2011-2012 season, but there is still a negative aspect concerning NFL games, as there will be a new rule to go into effect once the season begins which states that when an scoring play happens, it will be automatically checked by the replay official, which can truly make games longer than they should be, and this can also create a conflict of schedules for fans whom are watching games on TV, as it is quite possible that a game might still be played when another one has started.

Dodgers fell to Giants 5-0
The Giants were winning 1-0 against the Dodgers last night at AT&T Park, but at the sixth inning, they managed to score 4 more runs to make it a 5-0 victory over the Los Angeles team. The Dodgers are now fourth, while the Giants, the current MBL champions, are still leading the National League West.

It is certainly sad to see a team like the Dodgers going through such a dark chapter in their history, both in and out of the field, and when it comes to the long rivalry between the San Francisco and the Los Angeles franchises, fans of the Giants are not even chanting the famous “Beat LA” anymore, as instead of hate, they feel pity for them.
