By the term teenage or adolescence we mean that the ages between 13 and 19. This is really a crucial year of everyone’s life. Teenagers are going through many difficult phases and they have to face many problems during this time and that’s why many people have termed this stage as a period of “storm and stress”. They have to go through many problems like, biological, psychological, moral, and social and so on. Improper way of Dating is another problem of them and many teenagers face the bad consequences of dating as most of them do not think much before going out for a dating. Another reason of their failure in dating is that, it is not a proper age to take such an important decision of their life. Their choices will definitely going to change with proper knowledge and experience.
Reasons why they go for dating?
As they have to face lots of difficulties, this is a turbulent stage for them. There may be many reasons, why they are going for a dating. One of the reasons may be a way out from their day to day pressure of their regular activities. They have to go through lots of pressure of doing good result in their class. They have to take part many extracurricular activities besides the usual activity of their schools because in these days parents want to make their children all rounder. They want their children become successful in each and every field. If their children fulfill their expectation then there is no problem at all but if they fail in doing so, lots of problem will start. Many times, parents also compare their progress or the exam’s result with their friends and if they do not perform well in their exams, then the parents will scold and humiliate them.
So, sometimes they find someone with whom they can share their likes and dislikes, joy as well as sorrow. During this stage they are mixing lot of people and to find a way out of their various problems they may go for dating or become PUA or pick up artist.
How to help them?
So, help is needed for adolescents to choose the right match for their lives. First of all, parents should take the initiative to help them out. They must understand the various problems which they are facing in their everyday life. If any parent hear that their son or daughter is dating, they should not scold them at first. What they should do is to call them and spend some time with them to discuss about it, because, if you start scolding at the very beginning they might not want to discuss about this with you.
Parents should not humiliate them at any cost even if they know the boy or the girl whom their son or daughter is dating is not good. Never ever scold them or pass any abusive words in front of their friends. They are very sensitive about these matters and if once they get hurt they can take any steps which are not at all expected. So, being a parent of the teenager you have to be patient and have to deal with your child very carefully and cautiously.
