Dear Friend, n
Don't quit now! There's light in them thar hills... n
If what you're doing is not working, try doing it another way, but don't quit --don't stop! Why stop? You may just learn something of value -- about yourself for one and about how perserverence and steadfastedness is s big payoff, really. n

"A spiritual path ought to transform you into a spiritual being who is filled with love. That should be the test of your religion." ~Harold Klemp -

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT: n
"Your circumstances may be ungenial but they shall not remain so if you only perceive an ideal and strive to reach it. You CANNOT travel WITHIN and stand still without." ~ As a Man Thinketh n
'DON'T QUIT' n
"When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit. n
Life is queer with it's twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow. n
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,
That you must not quit." n

Most of my early life I operated as a warrior who marched into situations braced by the armor of my convictions. Though this served me well in the past, I've learned that it is no longer necessary, or even desirable.

It's important, I find, to recall and re-use old tools that have proven helpful in difficult situations in the past. Sometimes we think we've moved so far forward that a "Been there, done that!" attitude clouds our memory and limits our options. Fear is an ongoing challenge in this world so we need all the assistance we can muster.

In the movie ‘Field of Dreams,” Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) quotes author Terence Mann (James Earl Jones ) as saying: “There comes a time when all the cosmic tumblers have clicked into place — and the universe opens itself up for a few seconds to show you what’s possible.” In the film, Terence Mann also laments the tragic fact that most folks aren't even aware of that opening when it occurs, so they never walk through the doors that will lead them into their life's potential.

All of us will encounter toxic individuals and circumstances in our lives at one time or another. During those experiences we need to use whatever helpful tools we can find to stay balanced and clear about "who we are." One of the methods I use to maintain perspective is to create a "healthy level of detachment." Healthy, because I still have my heart engaged, but am detached enough not to be running amuck in an emotional minefield.
