In my article, Knowing When to Delegate, we discussed several questions you should ask yourself so that you know when it is time to get help in your small business.
Below you will find four ways you can hire or outsource tasks that you do not enjoy and that will free you up to bring in additional revenue.
Hire a VA – Virtual Assistants can be hired for one time tasks and for recurring tasks. I originally hired a VA intending to have her help me complete one task. I soon found out that I couldn’t afford not to have her help me on an ongoing basis. She now works for me 20 to 40 hours per week and it has made a world of difference in increasing not only my productivity and income but it has also relieved my stress levels and given me the peace of mind to know that I no longer have to do it all.
Fiverr.com – This is a great way to outsource specific tasks. It is amazing what people will do for $5.00. Obviously, you will want to be selective in the work you outsource. Don’t hire people to give you fake testimonials and other things that are unethical. However, with that said there are some great ways to get quality work completed for only five dollars. Check out our article Outsource 10 Tasks All for $5 for more information.
Hire someone locally – You no longer need to hire someone for 15, 20 or even 40 hours per week on an ongoing basis. There are many people in your local area who will come in and do your filing, follow up with your customers and do data entry on an as needed basis. Look for high school students, stay at home moms, and those who have recently retired.
Internships – This is a great way to have additional help around your office and to help someone else out as well. If you decide to look for an intern at the local high school or college be sure to plan in advance how you will be helping them. Do not plan on having them do only the work you dislike. If you have an intern, paid or unpaid, you are going to want to give them a clear understanding of your business so that it will help them with their future plans.
Do not allow yourself to procrastinate and delay getting help any longer. For more great tips check out our book, Mastering Your Wellness Business.
