Designing your hotel aesthetically is important. But it would be of no use if it’s operationally inefficient. This article will help you with ideas for designing operationally efficient hotels. • Ensure that you think long-term. Go for soft-good upgrades by investing in hard-surface elements. This would be a great idea especially for long-term investors who expect to get proper regular revenue from their property. This method is cost-effective and supports longevity too. • Try to buy resources which have multipurpose usage like moveable furniture. For example, if you go for a communal table, it can be used as both a breakfast bar and dining table at night. And the breakfast bar when not in use can be removed as well. • Its high time for us to think hi-tech. We can see that the hotel is renovated every 5 or 6 years. But the technological devices used in the hotel, in every room are updated every year. Here a possible solution is rather to stop incorporating unnecessary devices in a room which will be of no use in less than a year and start to support your guests to accommodate all of their devices in the room. We need to keep one thing in mind that, in the future customer experience will be wholly dependent on technology. So it will be important to know the guest preferences through loyalty programs and instantly change the room specifications according to it. Like the room lighting, television channels and so on. • It's important to maintain authenticity for hotels. Every guest, especially millennials seek for the location’s culture in every aspect of the hotel they stay in. From the interior design to the food delivered, ensure that a local touch of the place is present. Every customer looks for unique experiences during their stay, so it’s vital to for the hotel to be locally relevant. • Another most important thing is the guest’s requirements. Ensure that you get the review feedback from every customer. Try to interact with each guest individually keeping a personal touch to understand their requirements and problems in the hotel if any. Move a little away from the traditional methods and use innovative methods to make the guest experience memorable. You should be aware of the latest trends in the industry to keep good customer relations. • Your relationship with staffs is equally important. Help them to grow further on their skills by providing a positive work environment and a modicum of motivation. Communicate properly with your staffs and try to understand them. Hotel management industry is an ever-growing field with changing trends and demands of guests. No matter how great the amenities you provide are, it's important to ensure that you design an operationally efficient hotel.
