Destination Luanda

Luanda is the city wide and large in its vast expanse. Its spread far and wide on the sandy mud earth lands of the African country of Angola. Angola is a very big city with respect to size and also population. There has been a very steady rise in the population of the city ever since it has been made the capital of the country. Ever since there has been the shift of industrial development and improvement of the infrastructure of the country the city’s population has been steadily rising to new level and height.It is located on the coast of Atlantic Ocean and the coast of Angolan country. Also following tradition, it is the capital of the province in which it is situated. It is considered to be a major sea port of the country and it is the main admin center of the country as well.

It has not always been in this state as it is in today. In fact it is going through a very major re habilitation or in other words it is going through re-habilitation considering the development of the country. The landscape of the city will be majorly altered considering this fact. But all goes for the better as it will surely attract more businesses,more tourism and more wealth, space and recognition for the country. Late in the last century,the city was captured in to the hands of the Portuguese empire and was taken over but in the late century it got its freedom and now it proudly states this fact to the whole world that it is an independent city in an independent country. Another important thing about the country might be that it is being built into a complete new satellite city in the years to come by. And the name of the satellite city will be termed as Luanda Sul. Well, actually it has been built already much to the amazement of waiting people all round the country. Many of the country’s most important educational institutes are located here in this city and promoting education and awareness.

Luanda is the economic hub of the country. Luanda is home to some manufacturer companies. These manufactures include processed foods, beverages, textiles, cement and other building materials, plastic products, metal ware, cigarettes, shoes and clothes. Luanda is also a hub of natural raw material exports. The chief exports are coffee, cotton, sugar, diamonds, iron, and salt. City is growing industrially as a powerful economy stabilizing the country’s development. Oil extractions are a major factor for the latest boom in the economy of the country. Although many other investments are flowing in from different parts of the world and major companies are investing in the city’s industrial boom, the major contribution is due to Oil and petroleum exports through the city port.With all these developments going on,the conditions in Luanda are still poor and poverty is on rise.Even basic facilities like availability of safe drinking water are scarce in the city.
