1. With no doubt, iOS 8 is both a blessing and a curse since its update since its release in September 2014. Nevertheless, it still lags behind version 6 and 7, with many end users who have attributed to the delay in upgrading the different concerns which are still prevalent across many devices, including iPhone 6. Users should therefore be able to determine the common issues that affect the iOS 8 platform and ways of troubleshooting them. 2. Issues with WiFi connectivity could be attributed to a driver concern in how iOS 8 handles communications between the wireless router and the device. While a permanent fix isn't available from Apple yet, many users reported success in changing the wireless bands from 5GHZ to 2.4. Even though 5 is faster and less crowded than 2.4, due to its short range, even newer AC-based networks have issues with connection stability at this range while operating smoothly at the lesser one. 3. Another issue is the low volume through the earpiece when there are calls. While it is completely possible that the earpiece mounted to the screen inside the device is malfunctioning, the possible cause mostly appears to be the Ambient Noise Reduction for lowering external noises which may interrupt a conversation. If the piece is not as loud as it should, the settings should be turned off to considerably enhance the sound quality when listening to calls, like night and day enhancement. 4. The apps do not update or get stuck while downloading. When connections are stable, resource concerns within the platform can attribute to install applications correctly or getting stuck halfway. Furthermore, the ability of storage space can prevent certain apps from installing. A solution would be to see the data connectivity to ensure they are properly working. Moreover, the App Store applications have an over-the-air download time of 100 MB when downloading over cellular connections. 5. In sending messages, the iMessage results to failure in sending. Nonetheless, standard messages could be sent and received without issue. There are different causes for this, which range from the service not turned on to connectivity issues. What to do is to make sure that the feature is turned on and that there is active cellular or WiFi connection. A third approach would be to verify the ID of Apple that is linked to iMessage/iCloud is working well. The password should be entered correctly as well. 6. Battery drain has always been an issue with every new version of iOS. However, not all longevity issues are the result of iOS. There are instances when it is related to apps and positions that cause the drain. It is good to move the slier around halfway or lower in Positions, Display and Brightness section since typically the screen is the largest battery hog on any smart device. Another setting is the real-time use statistics, wherein the use is ranked from highest to lowest and the percentage displayed next to every app. 7. In iOS 8 development, another issue for users is the halting behavior or slowdowns. In general, this is caused by iOS which run on lean sources. However, the truth is that the more apps are opened, sending and receiving email, copying torrents, music streaming and more eventually hits the limit which would cause the computer to slow down between downloading applications or toggles. The solution would be to lessen the applications opened.
