Developing an online brand is a critical component of any business development strategy. When building an internet based business you must remember not only is the audience global but so is the competition! Equally important to recognize is that your brand and your online reputation are in fact one in the same therefore it is vital to be sure the image you create is a positive one! Here are 3 characteristics you want your online reputation to reflect so it contributes in a positive way to your business development strategy! Integrity Whether it is your actions, affiliations or what you may represent, you need to maintain the online reputation of being 'above board' and trustworthy. Trust is a very big part of your business development strategy from the standpoint that if people do not feel comfortable with you it is unlikely they will become customers. On the other hand if you are known to be trustworthy word will get around and this will only enhance your standing within the community! Reliability This is a reflection of not only a willingness to be helpful but also addressing any business related issues as they may arise. Customer satisfaction should ALWAYS be a top priority, especially for an internet based business since generating new customers is hard work. On the other hand it is very easy to shake somebody's faith in you if you are not quick to step and resolve issues as they arise! It is difficult, no impossible to always be perfect but being helpful only involves the willingness and a little extra effort! It is these little efforts that make BIG impressions and create lasting memories! Disclosure This is meant to say you are forthright and candid in how you deal with others. You hide nothing and reveal more than is sometimes necessary. This serves to help develop and deepen the trust others have in you! It also serves to bring to the attention of people facts and/or details they may have overlooked or otherwise not have realized. An online brand is primarily a reflection of your own persona insofar as the qualities that people identify with it. Branding is a very important component of the business development strategy since it makes you more competitive in the vast environment of the internet. Ultimately what you are establishing is your online reputation and you want it to reflect positivity for it to help you build an internet based business. The 3 characteristics discussed here today are ones you want to be known by and therefore should make every effort to firmly establish when branding your image online!
