Devotion cleanses our soul

There is a temple where great care is taken about cleanliness. I regularly see the temple attendants cleaning / wiping the floor of the temple. Despite regular cleaning process, we find dirty water/ dirt coming out in the process. I have never seen that the water is dirt-free and clean after the cleaning process. I wish to see that day when the water is clean after cleaning process (when no dirt is discharged). But this does not seem possible because every day lot of devotees and things keep moving in and out of the temple. Likewise we experience the inward & outward movement of earthly thoughts which soils our heart. It takes no time to make a pure heart impure. For example, just see how purified or incorrupt a 2-3 year old child is. Thereafter with every passing year, impurity increases. By looking to the elders the child learns to speak lies, and a lot of bad things creep into his behavior. To learn goodness by observing it and to practice goodness in soul & mind needs great labor. But bad things stick easily in our mind & soul without any effort. To imbibe goodness and to upkeep it is very difficult. But to imbibe bad things and to upkeep them is very easy because it is a natural phenomenon which requires no efforts from our side. We need lots of precautions and efforts to see that bad things do not stick to us. We need lots of efforts to discard the bad things which are present in our mind & soul. Therefore the easiest way & the easiest method to achieve this is through pure devotion towards the LORD. The companionship of LORD due to devotion cleanses our mind & soul and keeps it tidy and clean. The companionship of LORD has a unique & the singular power to spontaneously cleanse our mind & soul. Just like an anti-virus software in a computer silently does its work and cleanse the computer system from within and disallows unwarranted things from entering into the computer. Likewise devotion cleanses of mind & soul from within and prohibits bad things/ impurities from entering. Nothing in the world is powerful enough or have strength enough to cleanse our mind & soul. This power, this strength is present only & only in GOD’s devotion. For example a person having fear of GOD and having devotion for GOD will never do anything which is unethical, unprincipled or immoral. Because he knows that his immoral acts will lead him to punishment upon death and he cannot enter into the gates of GOD’s kingdom with his soiled soul. The devotion for the LORD and the love for LORD therefore purifies his mind & soul to such an extent that he lives a life on earth discarding all bad & evils. Such person will not indulge in corruption and bribe, he will not indulge in malpractices of business, nor will he indulge in adulteration, neither will he fraudulently snatches someone’s right. Living in this world, we will never see a day when our soul does not get impure. The world will always transmit impurity and it is only through devotion that we can regularly cleanse our soul. The act when, bribery will not attract us, when we will not compromise on our life’s values & principles, when we will not indulge in business malpractices and adulteration is only & only possible due to the devotion and on the strength of devotion. This is the true characteristics of pure devotion. If its result is not so than our devotion is not pure but artificial which will not benefit us. To repel impure ideas, unwarranted needs and desires, the only & easiest way is through pure devotion towards the LORD. Pure devotion for the LORD is the key that unlocks pure ideas, perfect behavior, genuine needs and unselfish desires.
