Hair transplant surgery is a surgical process of removing a hair follicular graft from the specific site on the head of the patient which is containing enough strong hair. It aims to restore hair growth in the area with limited or absent growth. It is a typical method used by doctors for many years. In this method, the surgeon extracts the hair follicles from the back of the head and transplants them into the scalps of the recipient site. This treatment has two basic methods differentiated on the basis of extraction including, follicular unit transplantation and follicular unit extraction. Direction hair implantation has also gained the spotlight in the past decade. rnFUE hair transplant is a very effective technique to restore hair. As opposed to the classic technique FUT, grafts are extracted and implanted one by one, and no strip of skin is extracted. As a result, it does not leave any visible scarring and ensures natural-looking results. The procedure starts by cleaning the scalps, after cleaning surgeon shaves the donor site and recipient site, leaving hair about 2mm in length. Then the surgeon will remove individual hair follicles or grafts from the skin and places them into a storage solution. This method of hair transplantation is minimally invasive that involves using a micro punch tool of 0.1mm to extract the hair follicles from the donor site. Once the extraction process complete, the surgeon will widen the canals for the grafts to be implanted. The last step of this procedure is implanting. In this step, the roots of the hairs are passed through the canals and closed out. rnDHI is a modified version of the follicular unit extraction hair implantation. It leaves no visible scars and gives natural look. While the graft extraction process is similar to follicular unit extraction, there are a few differences worth noting. The doctor shaves the head and will apply local anesthesia to numb the head. Then the surgeon will extract the individual follicle from the back of the head, which is also called the donor site with a micro punch tool. Then, instead of making manually cut to replant hairs, the surgeon loads the hair follicle into a fine pen-like tool and replants them one by one in the balding area.rnDirect hair transplantation technique is different from follicular unit extraction technique and is more appropriate in terms’ of opening and replanting of the hair follicles. There are two major differences in these techniques. In the follicular unit extraction method, doctors need to make tiny incisions as the canals on the skin have a very thin passage from which hair cannot be passed through then artificially. So, physicians broadened them in that way that they don’t cause any problem while implanting while indirect hair implantation surgeons do not need to make incisions. The other thing is, in FUE, surgeons need to implant the hair manually while indirect hair implantation, surgeons load the hair in a pen-like tool and implant it into the skin directly. The direction of hair growth with the hair sowing pen can be set according to need. And probably there are more possibilities to give the hair a more natural look. In the process of the DHI, it is quite easier to get wounds to heal quickly because the holes that are not larger than the grafts, the patients will not suffer from any severe cuts, wounds, and scratches in the hair. So, it will take a very short period of time for them to heal.rnWhen DHI and FUE are performed by experienced doctors and the professional team, they are not very different from each other in terms of results like naturalness except for their technical superiority. The two methods have advantages over each other, and the doctor must decide on the condition of the patient and the surgeon should suggest which would be more suitable and effective for patients.
